89 7.3 upgrades

I recently aquired a 1989 f350 four door bronco centurion conversion.
It has a 7.3 liter pre powerstroke and a brand new beefed up overdrive automatic. It is 4 wheel drive and in fairly good shape.I drove it from blountstown FL to my home In Carrrollton GA and it got 20 miles to the gallon fuel milage. First question; is this kind of milage common from this engine ?
Next question; I always like to get the most out of anything I own without adding a bunch of stuff. I always change air intakes and exhaust etc just to allow the engine to breath the way it should. I want to know is there any after marketexhaust manifolds, cold air intakes, computer inhancments, injector pump tricks or improvements available for this engine.?
I am not looking to turbo or anything like that just to allow the engine to do what it needs to do better without killing the fuel milage and even possibly increasing it. I already plan a 4 inch duel exhaust system for it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Centurion Conversions

There is a website for the centurion conversions like mine called fourdoorbronco.com. It is all about the kind of conversion I have wich is basicly a one ton crew cab truck turned into a bronco.Centurion has done many other conversions as well both ford and chevy I have seen a half ton chevy truck with the centurion badge that basicly had a body kit paint and interior work and a duelly ford that had basicly the same plus some add ons like a head ache rack and grill guards. I appreciate the help with the upgrades.

This is all the info I could find on them. as well as the above mentioned website

Like you said it is an idi correct? It does not have a computer to play with. If you do not want to turbo it you want to make sure you have a clean air filter and do not put mufflers in your duals unless your in a state that has restrictions. 20 mpg is pretty good if you ask me.
