I have a 2000 F-350 with 4" exhuast, guage and no other mods done to it. I was driving about 30 MPH and got a SES light, then it would go away. I would drive another 100 feet or so and it would come back on. Now this is the part where I am lost. By the time I get my reader on there is no more light and no codes. It starts right back up and drives fine for a couple of days and then comes back, with same problem. Has anybody run across this problem. Would prefer to stay away from a dealership but I need to find out what is causing this.
I have the rader in the truck and have been driving it back and forth to work. So time will tell. I am not sure if it will read non generic ODB II codes?? What is P1000??
In the ODB II Code Set P1000 and below are considered generic (All vehicle regardless of make or model). Model specific codes such as powerstroke codes reside above that (P1001 and Greater)
Which Predator? Is it for the Powerstroke or something else? They sell different versions, so if you borrowed one that went for a different engine, then it probably won't read your codes.
Check your rear diff, the speed sensor is located there, and sometimes they get metal on them, or could be low fluid, if it gets errroneous/incorrect info, it will affect the computer and the info it sends everywhere. Does your speedo do anything wacko?
