I had planned of running a cooler in the bed with its own dedicated fan. Any idea on the price of the external filter system and possibly part#'s? Also what shifter would you recommend. I foresee numerous shifts between 1st and 2nd throughout the track. Alot of guys around here run the quiksilver I believe. And could you maybe give me a little runthrough on some home porting/polishing on a set of D3ve 460 heads. I have an itching to put my die grinder to use.
Thanks for the response monster.
I pulled one out of a 78 Bronco, and it was a long adapter. I guess I'll just look at all of them I can find, or just buy a new one.
Just curious, what is the difference between the short 205 adapter and the 203 adapter.
Sorry Thomsen, I don't think I can help much on this, but looks like monster can answer all your questions.
Yep...you coming??? I just got the spring pads and shock mounts welded onto my 79 dana 60 and slung under the bogger. If I get ahold of this other c6 I could sell you my c6 with a 205 possibly...then you could quit screwing around and have a good reason to put a 460 in it.
I got a good reason to put a C6 in, have a 460 sittin at the neighbors just waitin for me to pull it an build it.
Not sure if I am gonna make the trip yet, we are going antelope hunting in Montana and Harding County the end of August/beginning of September. All depends on what the checkin account is looking like with these fuel prices
Hahaha.......I could see me pulling into Sturgis on a Moped for some reason.......Well, maybe not. Got a mud bog this weekend I just found out about, and its only 45 miles from home......

the one I have here is a napa part number it's 1-8514, don't remember the cost right off and itls listed as a transmission filter. I like the quicksilver shifter and it's the one I am running myself. As far as the D3VE head porting I would have a hard time writting it all out to try and explain it, but may I suggest spending the $25 for Scott aka the mad porters web site he has some really good advice on there for porting heads (and IMHO he is about as good as they come on doing it.) there is a lot of free stuff on his site but to get to the detailed instructions he charges a one time $25 fee.
Here is his home page, check it out and then decide if you want to spend the money for the good stuff. http://reincarnation-automotive.com/
