Dead in the water !!
Hi all ,
i have a 1988 f-150 4x4 w/300 6 cylinder
while driving ,motor just shut down, i still have all the dash electronics.
and it cranks over . i have plenty of fuel and it still wont start.the motor was warm ( i mean i have been driving for about 20 min), oh and about a week ago it did the same thing only that time i was able to coast it and pop the clutch and it started. but not this time .any help would be appreciated.

pull codes (www.fordfuelinjection.com) may also be tfi module, when they get hot they will fail and not allow the rig to start

thanx for the info everyone , it does have two tanks,i just replaced the filter and the fuel relay , still no fix , i will try the TFI next,, i dont have access to a code reader right now the truck is stuck in a parking lot,how would i test the pump and would it be the pump that is on the frane rail?

spray some ether into throttle, if it starts and dies, then it is fuel pump.
if not tfi is the next best bet.

hey thanx again it does want to start with ether, should i replace the pump that is on the frame rail, or the one in one of the tanks?

Don't need a code reader, those are typically used on OBD-II applications...this truck is not OBD-II.
