I have been trying to find the correct rubber mounts for the rear mounting of the 223 in my '64 F-100. The shop manual shows "donut" rubber mounts at the fly-wheel housing for that engine in the F-100. And that is what is on my truck. The rubber mounts at the rear look just like the single mounting rubber at the front of the engine.
But, a supplier (NAPA) shows a completely different rubber mount for the rear of the engine (flywheel housing). This supplier show for the F-series what the shop manual shows for the P-series.
What's the deal? Can I use the rubber mounts for the front of the engine at the rear mountings?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 14-Nov-02 AT 01:49 PM (EST)]I have a 64 262 and the motor mounts are the same front and rear. When I got mine, the 223 and 262 were listed as the same. All of the places I buy parts from have great support staff's. Have you tried asking them?
PS. I have never had any luck with NAPA offering any technical assistance.

I've actually made mine out of an old tire. Fairly simple and straightforward. I posted it some time back. They work great and it is a daily driver. The cost was an old tire and about 1/2 an hour; plus a good utility knife and a blue ball point pen. Oops, and a six pack of brew, after I finished the cutting. The made up mounts work great. If you're interested, e-mail me.
