Hi guys, just installed my chip i made...very simple to do. made it a 4 position chip and works on the basics of a 10k mod. the positions are: Stock, 18k, 10k, and 5.7k hooked into the IPS. It works great i just used a radioshack small circuit board to solder my resistors on and used some combinations to make the 18k like seen on BCD. put the 4 pos rotary sw in my dash and its awesome. only cost about 10 bucks also. I am goin to hook up a relay to my acc pedal so when at idle everything will be stock.

Lots of power difference. basically im gunna try to leave it on the 18k and see if i get better mpg, im hoping this will be an tow/economy mode. i kno that the 10k adds alot of power but drops 1/2 mpg which aint bad really when u think of the power, its a good tow mode. 5.7k i recommend as a high perf mode only too much power for towing unless u wanna burn up ur tranny...im gunna try to make some good directions for (anyone who wants them). ***I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MALFUNCTIONS/PROBLEMS DONE TO ANY TRUCK AS A RESULT OF THIS MOD***

I would like some instructions when you get to them also. I could probably figure it out but since you have already done yours and know the part numbers you bought that would be sweet. Can you use it along with a programmer or another chip from another company or would that be pointless to stack them?
May want to reconsider your terminology. That's not a chip. A chip is entirely different, uses ROMs to remap a lot of details in the computer. Just want to clear up any confusion.
Call it what it is...an adjustable ICP mod. It was very common a few years ago for folks to build their own adjustable resistors, and is the reason things ike the 18K exist. Detailed instructions are available all over the internet.
The current generation of selectable level chips already have the ICP dialed in. You can stack this mod with a chip, but it may be counterproductive. They still work very well when used alone on a basically stock truck.
do u know any sites with the information on how to build it? i really would like to do this. my truck is in the shop getting fixed right now so i would liek to get read up on it and get the parts and get r done when she comes back to me.
or if you could jboard take some pics and get some part numbers and directions.
thank you
Mitch
i dont kno of any but a simple one would be use a simple 10k variable resistor and hook it up in place of a 10k mod just run the wires into the cab and mount the variable resistor. mine is the same only i have positions and go to 18k of resistance. urs would be selectable on a range of 10k-0 ohms which could produce too much fuel if turned way down. To correct that prob solder in a 2.2k or 4.7k resistor in any of the 2 wires, this would not let the resistance go below 2.2k or 4.7k but give u 12.2k or 14.7k on the top end. Less resistance = more fuel delivered = more heat = watch the pyro. Check Baz's site for the 10k mod hookup.
