Looking for some help

Looking for some help

I have a 1994 F-150 long wheel base king cab with a 302 and a 135,000 miles on the truck.

This weekend I made a trip from Orange Tx to Mobile Ala and back. going over no load coming back had about 1500 lbs plus 3 people in the the truck.

Coming back I noted a loss of power, couldn't hold speed above 65 mph with out droping out of over drive. Now the load is off the truck but the power issue is the same, no power.

The transmission was recent ly over haul but has run ok sence till now.

The engine has never been touched other than routine oil changes, the occasional serpentine belt and air filters.

The truck has never even had a real tune up, it has always gotten 15 to 17 mile to the gallon so it hasn't been touched.

At, best I hope it's a clogged cat but at worst (which worse is what I usually get) the timming chain has slipped.

Looking for some advise before I tear into it, thank everyone

give it a tune up first, replace wires, cap/rotor and set timing to 12*btdc with spout connector removed. replace fuel filter as well. use regular autolite or motorcraft copper plugs, no need to buy the spendy stuff. then see how it runs , also pull codes www.fordfuelinjection.com will show you how
