I have an 87 f-150 4x4 5.0 auto,my oil pan is leacking and I was wondering if there was some kind of sealer I can put on it to stop the leak or do I have to change the pan.
Change it. When I did the AutoRX flush, I lost a lot of gunk, and the oil pan gasket was the first to go. Took a few hours, but I know that it's been done correctly. The two main things you have to remember are: 1) jack up the engine as high as it will go, watching the intake manifold, and 2) use some allthread that's the same size as the original bolts to keep the gasket in place as you're reassembling it. That trick saved me a ton of headache. I used 5 or 6 2inch pieces and had a good time, but more would make things easier.

Clean ,sand the pan and use JB weld my father has done it for years. I did it on my 88 bronco and 93 F150 . The F150 was on there for 4 years no leaks . Swapped motor into 94 truck and so put new pan on. If your truck is going to need work or gaskets .Go with a new pan . around $100.00 ford ,$60.00 ebay oddball .Plus gaskets you won't like the price at a garage. Pan can be done in truck but is pain . But for $10.00 I'd patch it till it gets worse and save some cash to fix right the next time. good luck

Reason: on or
Unless you are wanting to change gaskets, etc, I would go with just JB Weld or use BOndo resin kit. I had the same problem on my truck and after I motor flushed it, wow, leaks from the pan that are noticeable on Fords. I did a search on here and used the Bondo trick, a year later and still doing fine. I plan on redoing later this summer, when the weather cools a bit so I can work on it on a weekend off. Plan on changing the oil pump and gaskets and new pan.
