Question what mod first?

I own a stock 2002 7.3 crewcab. I also have a hard tannau cover over the bed. Currently i get 21-22 mpg on highway in summer. (18-19 winter) I have manually run the #'s and they are correct. So whats the verdict on doing any mods, should i mess with it? im not sure if i can get any better or not. I;m sure i can get more power with a mpg loss. So now my question is should i do the air first and what impacts would it have, then exhaust then chip or just a tuner and see what happens, I dont have a egt guage either to monitor anything so i wanted to put the pilar in also. Or should i be happy with the mpg i get now ... any ideas? I also saw in diesel power some "kits" that include the tuner air and exhust for one price. any input? Jeff

I would start with the gauges, then exhaust and intake and you should be good with anything you decicde to give it. If I was you forget about the tuner and go with a custom chip for it instead of a tuner. I have the superchips 1700 model and I get high egts out of it. I've read on here that the chip gives you lower egts. The tuner works great and it really wakes up the truck but I'm getting the chip next, just have to save a little for it. Just my opinion.

do intake, exhuast,guages then power in that order but i wouldn't expect better mileage. you are already getting about the top i have heard on a regular basis. tuners and chip claim MPG increase but that not why you should get one cause its not the normal result. its difficult to not take advantage of the power nad sound once you have installed them. your right foot is the enemy of MPG.
