Power Loss Problem HELP!!
I was driving my truck around tonight and at first I was getting GREAT power. I drove for about 15 minutes and noticed a considerable drop in power. I have been battling some air leak issues lately. I have been bleeding the lines frequently and still getting air to come out. Could these air leaks in my fuel lines also be causing my power loss. What other things should I look for?? How do I begin solving this air leak issue. Thanks guys.

make sure the filter is clean. The air leak problem may be causing the problem too, but, you will see white smoke from the exhaust if there is that much air. You will also feel a miss in the engine operation. High mileage on the injectors and injection pump will also cause power problems. Try a new filter and a good rich dose of fuel additive (diesel kleen or stanadyne performance) may solve the problem.

that is my bad. I should have given you some details on the truck. i need to put it in my signature as well. it is an 86 F-250 6.9L. i wasnt sure if just changing out the fuel filter and cleaning the injectors might fix this power problem. that was on the agenda for today when i get to working on the truck. the IP was just replaced about 15000 miles ago, the injectors stand to be replaced now though. they are still original. the truck has 135000 miles on it. thanks for your help. any help with this air leak problem would be much appreciated as well. thanks again
