Just got back from a 1000 mile vacation with the X and the 8800# TT. 680 miles towing the rest highway/city driving. 12.2 mpg. Better than I thought it would be.
That's some pretty great mileage...if it were a V10! I thought you diesel guys always got like 18 towing! heeheeheehee
Seriously though...that is really good mileage and it's always icing on the cake when it exceeds your expectations! Silly that Ford dropped the Excursion, huh?
Yeah, if I were towing a U-Haul. I did forget to mention that the mileage before the add-ons was only about 10 mpg. As popular as the X is and for that matter all SUV's right now, why get out of a good thing!
Just got back from a trip (Dallas to Indy and back - 1900 miles), pulling my 16' open car hauler with a 64 Ranchero on it. About 4500 lbs. Got right at 15 mpg.
Got back on the 17th from TX, 3700 miles round trip, averaged 18.5 the whole way, had a few good tanks, running 75mph or below, but boy howdy, punch her up above 80 and she likes to drink it down! Gotta love you Texas folk, I paid $2.67 up by Austin!!
Expect mileage wise? or gas prices?!! Mileage, I am happy with, obviously I would have liked 25 ha ha, no I am real pleased, you figure an 8k pound truck, 5" lift and 35's, running both A/C units, humping along between 73-83 mph with a few bursts past 90 for fun, we are in no way cramped, lots of leg room, and can still pass anything I want uphill, I am extremely pleased.
Gas prices, well that is just straight out BS, everybody is worried about the gas companies making money, hell the government makes more off of gas than they do, that my friends is the BS of it! just my 2 pennies
