1990 f 350 starting problems
my first diesel and i love the power. I use the truck for my business, a lot of stop and go. in the mornigs it cranks great. after a while, i have to spin it over and turn it on and off, and then it will crank like it should. a mechanic replaced the solenoid on the injection pump and ran some cleaner thru the system, but it still does it. it seems to be getting worse, and then some days it never happens. any help would be welcomed i am in the propane and natural gas service business and cant affored to be down very long. thanks

I am having a hard time understanding your problem.Are you saying it cranks and wont start or its not cranking?Are you turning it on and off to get it to crank,or to get it to start?How does the ignition feel,is it hard to turn the key?Is it starting good 1st start of the day then cranking excessivly(sp) after its warmed up?We will need a better description of the problem to help. Dont worry someone here will give you the right answers.BTW,welcome to the forum.

the truck will sart fine when its cold . after driving it to jobs,and turning off, work a couple of hours , it spins over fine,but wont start. keep trying ,and then it will crank fine. some days it doesnt act up at all.

Has the fuel return lines on top of engine been replaced? If they are painted gray then no. Could be part of the problem.... Also check fuel flow at an injector when this happens. Crack open one of the fuel lines on the injector and see if you get fuel out.
