Throwout Bearing
So I'm up and driving the 76 Supercab 2wd now, and it's running decently, but developed a noise that sounds very similar to a belt whine, cyclical, changes with engine speed, gets louder with the clutch pedal depressed, dissapears when the clutch is released.
Do you think this a throwout bearing problem? The last time I did any clutch work was years ago - I've been real lucky, and I'm hoping I don't have to drop the tranny.
Would it affect the driveablity of the truck at all if it IS the throwout bearing? I'm used to driving a 4.0 Ranger 5spd, and that truck doesn't need any throttle at all to get into first gear. This Supercab shudders pretty bad, even with moderate throttle and gradual clutch release into 1st and 2nd gears (esp. 2nd!)
Thanks!
JF
