1986 f-150

302 v8--- new motor, old injectors. starts for a split second and dies, usually just cranks without starting. trying to figure it out any suggestions.... help

Pull the codes and then post them if its an EFI engine...although the way you describe seems like its a fuel issue, possibly mebie a fuel filter or fuel pump regulator, does the sound of the pumps come on when you turn the key on? More info is needed.

can hear the pump in the tank running, removed hose from canister filter and turned on key fuel does not pump out unless i drop line down to start it siphoning then the pump will help, should the inside tank pump push out fuel pretty good ? i can also hear the frame rail pump come on for a few seconds then stop. tryed both tank pumps they dont pump out very much fuel. also should frame rail pump , pump pretty good also. help.

You can get a testor from autozone "loan a tool" for testing fuel rail pressure.

Just hook it to the schrader valve and read the gauge.

It should be near 40 psi if both pumps work.
