'87 Clutch replacment
But first I have a couple of questions.
One, how best to drain and fill the 4 speed tranny while it's out.
Two, what if any thing should I put some lock tight on.
What if any should I put assamble lube, or bearing grease on.
Three, should I try and track down a new gasket to go between the transmision adaptor and the transfercase, or should I just use the old beat up on. I don't even really understand what it does.
Four, is there anything that I might be missing.
Thanks for all the advice I want to do this right once.

You should put locktite on the flywheel and pressure plate bolts.
Bearing grease on the pilot bearing, input shaft (inspect it for nicks/damage!), and TO bearing. Don't need a boatload but a nice coating.
You can just use silicone or silicone and the old gasket if you want.
Think you've got it covered....good luck!

2: Flywheel bolts and pressure plate bolts. You are getting the flywheel resurfaced..right?
Most of the pilot bearings come pre-greased and it's recommended not to add any to them. A very light coat on the input shaft if any, you don't want to contaminate the clutch disc with any being thrown off. Just a touch on the points where the fork touches the throwout bearing.
3: If you can't find a replacement Permatex Ultra Black should work good.
4: Get some help...Those transmissions are heavy.
