tanny shifts high
I need help! Im worried that i need to replace/rebuild my tranny but not sure yet. I have a 97 v8 explorer w approx 138k miles, when i drive it with the engine cold she shifts fine but after it warms up to normal operating temp it seems to shift a little high around 4500 to 5000 rpms. i looked at the fluid looks fine no burn smell, any ideas? thanks

My experience with automatic transmissions is that if you think you need a transmission rebuilt, you do.
When they are okay, they work flawlessly and don't cause you to even think about them. When they on the way out, something like this happens and you start to wonder.
Take it to a reputable transmission shop and have them check it.
