And EP has it right--up through '91 they used a 5-digit odometer (rolls over every 100,000 miles), with the sixth digit being tenths of a mile. In '92, they went digital and six digits plus tenths (rolls over every 1,000,000 miles--has anyone done this yet?).

Actually.... when they get to 399,999.9 they go back to 300,000.0
I have NO idea why but I have had 2 of them do it so far. With 368,000 miles on my 97 F250, I shouldn't have to wait much longer to see it again.
