95 Explorer shifting problem
My girlfriends truck,95 Explorer, 4.0 automatic trans. It overheted badly, and I found cracks at the intake manifold. Fixed that, refilled with antifreeze, checked level and let it run up to temp., no problems with that. I went to test drive it, and it would not shift out of first. I checked trans. fluid, seemed ok, but decided to change it and put in a new filter. While I had the pan off, I checked shift linkage and it was fine. Thought maybe the fluid had just gotten a little burnt and /or filter was plugged. This did not solve my problem. She indicated that it shifted fine before and during the overheating.Any help would be appreciated.
I kind of feel it is something simple or easy, it will shift down into low gears,but in drive and overdrive will not come out first.
