Sluggish reverse
My new-to-me '96 F 150 drives great, but I notice when you put it in reverse, it takes a while before anything happens. It is a 4.9 auto. I'm hoping a new filter and fluid will help. Any expert advice?

All 3 of the F150's I have owned took a second to engage reverse after the shifter was put in reverse. Is that what your problem is? I believe that is just the way it is on all of them. My friend has a 02 superduty and its about the same. A new filter etc will probably help though.
