I'm pulling the transmission off my 7.3 IDI (1990) and I appear to have every thing unhooked but she won't come off. Can anyone give me a break down off everything that needs to be unhooked?
Did you get the tranny loose or won't it budge at all?
If it is loose then probably your spline is hanging up in the clutch plate. Try turning the engine for and back with a 15/16" socket at the crank pulley to see if you can line up the spine in a way so it lets go of the clutch plate.
I recently pulled my E4OD tranny in my 91' and it slide right off as soon as I had removed all the sixe bolts. The dowel pins were not very tight.
Starter did't need removed. I turned the enigine but that didn't seem to do any good. So I used a pry bar and worked it and once it loosened up a but it came pretty easy.
