My 99 350 is starting to have a phantom shake in the front end. It feel exactly like driving in the rumble strips along side the hwy. for a bit, then it goes away. I am not missing any nuts or bolts in the front end, no bulge in the rubber, kinda lost since it comes and goes.
Was wondering what the likelihood is that it is the shocks going bad? I'm up for any and all suggestions. Don't want something expensive to break by continuing to drive it.
I WOULD PROBABLY CHECK THE U-JOINTS FIRST,THEN THE DIFFS FOR DEBRIS,Maybe The Spindel Bearing, My 99 F-250 Did The Same Thing BUT ONLY WHEN I WAS IN 4 X 4 And I Had To Replace The Frt Lt Spindel Assy As It's A Sealed Non Serviceable Brg, GOOD LUCK

Is there a way to narrow down which side without disassembling everything? If one side needs it, must I do the other as well? To check it, do I just jack it up and try to manually wiggle the tire for slop? Not sure exactly how to do it, but I'm game to taking stuff apart. I'm searching for pics on how to do it, know of any?
to check the wheel bearings, jack up one side and pull and push on the top and bottom of the wheel. if it wobbles ANY, the bearings are bad and can give a humming noise.
