Hello everybody.
I am in the process of purchasing a 1966 Ford Flare side The Engine transmission, power stering and power brake were rebuild back in 2000 it looks like an abandoned project I whent for a test drive and I have to say it is a sweet ride souped up 302 4 speed on the floor little rough looking but a lot of potential. Total price $1500
My problem is this is my first truck (project) were does the spare tire supposed to go I have seen a few picture but they are all front pass. view I need to see the rear or driver side any help availlable would be appreciated.
Joseph! Welcome to FTE! Sounds like you have found a good deal! Sometimes these abandoned project trucks are a real bargan. Hope your truck turns out that way. Flair side trucks had the spare tire mounted on a bracket on the left bed side. The fender is special as well (dip for the tire). These are common and available parts. Ask the owner if he has any parts laying around before you pay and drive off. The other spare tire mount is hanging under the bed in front of the rear bumper. There is a third location, much more common than these two, in fact it is the one I am currently using, it's called the bed mount. Basically you toss the spare tire in the bed and drive on.

thanks it looks like the third option will be it for the time being as far as spare parts is concern none are availlable from the owner so I am flying blind anyway the engine and tranny are worth the price
