I have a factory video system in exc. I want to change out the factory radio but was told that the video also goes through there. I would lose sound for my video if I change it out. I pulled the radio out to look at it and there is two plugs. One of the plugs is for the power and speakers. I guess the other is for video. Can anyone tell me how to wire it up to make my video work like it does now? Thanks.
It maybe a worthwhile effort to call up or e-mail the guys at PIE Electronics. Just to see if what they might have. I have a older dealer cat. from PIE but they only list a bunch of "AUX" type connectors that could be wired in to the factory set-up by the use of aux/audio-video adaptive controllers and convertors... They may have come up with something more substantial by now.
Scosche was the same way about listing convertors and adapters in the newer catalog. But nothing that would most defintely work on a plug'n play factor.
My only other possibility that I really wouldn't suggest... would be a "hack job" of some sort.
Unless you or a tech is familiar with this wiring and this set-up I would not touch it.
