Power drain thrugh the EEC unit

Power drain thrugh the EEC unit

Hi all

My Explorer`s battery is beeing drained thrugh the EEC unit, with 0,57-2 Amp, could anybody tell me what is wrong, is the EEC to be replaced or is there a cheeper way to come over the problem.

Have you determined via which fuse the current is being drawn?

If you're sure its the EEC, have you tried pulling the EEC relay?? might be stuck closed.

I determined that it is the EEC via which fuse the current is being drawn.

I havent tryed to pull the EEC relay, - but it soundt like it pulls when i put the battery on again.

Hard to say from here, but the EEC relay should only be closed when you turn the key to start or run.

If the ignition is off & you hear the relay close when you connect the battery, try removing the connector from the ignition switch.

Does the relay click now when you connect the battery?? If it does'nt you need to replace the ignition switch.

Got a wiring diagram??
