Used 250 questions

Looking at a used 05 F250. approx 6,000 miles
Talked to a salesperson and he had said that he thinks it was a ford employee truck and that he believes that its never been titled. That the dealership purchased it at a ford auction.

Is this normal or a red flag?

If its never been titled even though its listed as a used vehicle would I still be able to get rebates, and the 1.9% Financing on it?

RED FLAG! Is it a 6.0 diesel? Tell the salesman you want an Oasis report. It very well could be a buyback truck.

Yep 6.0. . Hmm good Idea.. however...Its almost 200 miles away. I could ask for a oasis but I suppose he could alter it before he faxes it. ??

an employee truck not tittled? 6000 miles. Something seems weird.

I would price a new one (06) with the rebates or 0% interest. Bet the cost is not much more than what the dealer quoted on the 05 and you don't have to worry
about where it came from and you have a better selection.

Good Luck,
Jack

If the sales person is on the "up and up" he will be able to produce the "MSO". This is the certificate of origin for the vehicle. A " birth certificate" if you will. This will determine if it has been previously sold or not (and where). The term "sold" is important.
With this "sold" info, you can determine if it was used as some sort of demonstrator vehicle or not. I am assuming that you are at a new, and used car dealership. Take the VIN to the service dept. ask them to run a service history using the VIN. This should clear up any sevice issues. Factory warranty starts the date the truck goes into service, the service manager that you just made friends with can help you with this as well. This is very important! Finally the factory rebates. The factory will not honor any factory cash back on a previousley owned truck. Do not be fooled into having them use MSRP of a new truck, (or even MSRP of an 05')and show you a discount of something equal to the factory rebate. Even if they " buy down" the rate to something attractive like, 1.0% or 0%. You would be better off paying a fair price for the "used" truck. The dealer wants you to pay too much, the salesperson wants you to pay too much, and they will try just about anything to get too much. Some smokin' deals are out there just be as prepared as possible when you go to the desk. Remember they buy and sell cars every day, most of us only once every few years. Do your homework on this truck, and you will be happier with your decission, whatever it may be.
Good luck!
