Does anyone know exactly what this recall is for? I got it on a service notice from my local dealer I use for warranty stuff. I found it on a previous post, but it did not say what specifically was adressed with this recall. I won't let them flash my truck, and was wondering if that's what this was. Mine is Jan 03 engine, flashed twice since new. Only other recall was for a loose battery cable check. Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, I usually keep up with all the posts, and tried a search, but it wasn't working or something. Thanks in advance.
O.K. Thanks for the info. I saw this somewhere else before, but never got the notice for my truck. They want to flash the truck to "fix" a corrosion problem on the EP sensor? So they actually figured out there is a defective part, but instead of replacing it, we'll just flash it out of there, and let some other parts do that job instead? What kind of Voodoo nonsense is that? Maybe I'm wrong here, but does anyone besides me see anything funny going on here. It's madated in CA, so that right there tells me some EPA gomer is screwing with my truck. Wonder if they'll mind I unplugged the EGR at 50K? Maybe they'll give me some new injectors while I'm in there, or maybe they have another magic flash that will fix those C-94's without replacing them. The way I am reading this, Ford is required to flash any existing vehicles in their inventory, so who's to say they won't flash your truck whether or not you want them to? If I ever have to go back to the dealer again, I will get in writing that they will not flash my truck for any reason without my permission. I got screwed out of the PI that way, they didn't tell me I would lose that either, until it was too late. Still pissed about that. Then, they didn't "fix" the harsh downshifts in tow mode, they just "flashed away" the 2nd to 1st downshift. Poof!! problem solved. Thanks Ford. Another better idea.
