I think it's a great idea and own two. I got a pro-comp for about $110 and it's on my kids windsor- worked great and removed about 20 miles of defunct wiring- rebuilding motor.

I bought another for my 400- thought it was a pro-comp on ebay but it was a cheap imitation- no name unit- have a procomp on backorder- let me know if you find a source for them.

The nice thing about the DUI units, which is what I'm leaning towards getting right now, is that you tell them all of your engine specs and they'll curve the thing for you. So when you get it all you do is drop it in, run one 12v wire, and set the timing.

the hei dist at bronco graveyard looks like the no name brand i got off ebay...might be great but doesn't seem to compare favorably with procomps version.

So far there is Pro-Comp and Pro-Form. I have sold both. We stock both. But you have to be carfull with both. I sent more dist. back lately as compared to selling them.

In fact I take it back that I stock both, I think there is some in the return bins.

Biggest problem so far is wrong body. Who ever is asemblying these are putting 351W or "335" series shafts and gears in a 302 body. That is why we inspect these parts before they go out. And why we probably don't sell them as cheap as others.

Got a procomp back last week that the timing was "jumping" around.

I have a Pro-comp TFI dist in my EFI 400. It is a 315W unit, but I replaced the cam gear with a 335 series gear. It has worked fine from day one.

I've been impressed with the procomp unit I have...but imagion that some could have problems...you can't get them anywhere right now except for 302 models so maybe someones working with the 302 models to convert or something???

My no-name unit which must be the pro-form by default...not as impressive imo.

If $$$ is no issue, DUI is the choice. Maybe 2-3 times the price of an import. Other wise, the other two have been sold alot. Biggest advice I would give is buy from someone you can trust. IF something goes bad, and any of them can, how it is taken care of is important.
