Gun Locker / Drawer

Has anyone ever installed a drawer under their front middle seat to use for storage of a handgun or other valuables? I am thinking of something like this...

Any thought on how this would fit under the seat and how it would mount?

I went out and did some looking at my '06 with the middle seat and armrest console. The seat is held to a bracket on the floor with six bolts, and it is 3 inches off the floor. The drawer itself is 3.5 inches high, so I thought I could remove the six bolts holding the seat and add a half inch of spacers that would give me the necessary room under that middle seat to bolt the drawer down to the floor. So that leads to another question, can you simply bolt directly to the floor board of the cab?

I'd put the spacers on top of the seat bracket so the bottom bolt holes line up. Yes you can bolt the box to the floor, just check underneath BEFORE drilling. I don't think anything is in the way but better safe than sorry. Reinforce the mounting bolts with large washers for security of the lock box. BTW good idea!

Good idea! Please keep us updated with pictures and details of how this works for you. I am interested in doing something similar in my 05 SD.
