Does anyone else have the problem of old truck parts following them home? On sunday I picked up a seized flathead V-8. I don't need it but I wanted to see if I could free it up. I also want to try and drag those crushed trucks out of the trees too. Is there a cure to this disease?
That works, but isn't really a cure. I had to give up my '40 project (still kicking myself after 8 years) because I had no time with grade school kids and soccer and hockey and their mother (my wife) doesn't drive. but it was only a temporary thing. 4 other trucks have ran thru the stable here since, 2 of them I actually worked on, the other 2 became donors.
Wives never really encourage the building of these trucks. You have to constantly remind them that otherwise you'd be in the

I think Fom's got about the worst case I've seen. At least in his case, though, it's a rather discerning disease.
Usually wife and kids is a preventative measure. But not always.
another one is living inside the city, on a "small" lot, with your rents haha
i really really want an acerage(sp?) cuz im always spotting wicked deals, but i know i will get my *** kicked if i brought it home to pile up in our small yard/garage
I figured there isn't one. I think there are two causes though. One would be the sirens call. When you see an old truck, you feel compelled to have it and can't get the wallet out fast enough to pay for it. The other way is when your fixing an older vehicle and the wrench slips, bashing your knuckle. Some of the old iron virus enters the blood stream affecting the mind control and making you a magnet for old vehicles. Old vehicles then have a problem of being dragged behind you.
I over the years have gotten too many projects. I have had to steal myself from picking up more projects. I'm slowly clearing out other projects I picked up and never had time for. I recently sold my 77 Dodge Monaco Wgn. here only had 42,000 miles on it. Hope to rid myself some other stuff around here. Then go get more trucks.
I have a hard time trying to break this addiction. I don't think there is a cure.
