This might sound like a dumb question, but how exactly do you get the cable ties for the spark plug wires open? I have a 2000 ranger 3.0 and for the life of me I can't figure it out. A diagram would be wonderful.
The ties, that route the spark plug wires over and around the intake manifold, typically three wires for the first 2 clamps/ties/clasps/holders whatever you want to call them, then 2 for the next one, and finally a single wire through the last one and then onto the spark plug. They're just plastic deals that route the spark plug wires so that they keep out of the way and I would assume so that they don't get burned on the exhaust and intake manifolds.
It's a little too late for a pic of them, but you can't miss them, if you've ever had to change your wires you would have had to removed them first.
Oh yeah I've seen those, I have them as well, it's been forever since I did my plugs lemme go have a look.
Hmm...on my truck there are no cable ties or anything, they're just little press-in sorta clips, the wires just press into a clip that is roughly the size of the wire.
That's really the question, WHERE did you pry them? I know where the hinge is, but there are like 3 clips on the wire router and none of them are in the same general vincinity. Did you just basically rip it open with the screwdriver or is there some pressure point?
On the bottom of each one you may be able to see where they interlock, thats where I pried them apart. It is kind of a pain though. Let me know if this helps.
Anybody got a picture of these? That's definetly not what's on my truck.

I'll try to post it when I get back home tonight. I honestly didn't think this would be such a big todo, but I guess threads take on a life of their own.
