96 cat convertor
my truck,79 f150,300 ,6 cyl.5 spd,16000 kms,acts like the cat is pluged.How can you tell if it is?Is the cat in the middle of the truck,or is it closer to the engine?

cats are in front than muffler, very round, in back than pipe up over axle and out side.

get a vacuum gauge and check cat. conv. out.

what is the thing closest to the engine?the resonator?could it be pluged also?

i read a post here somewhere that if i drill a hole in the cat,it might help...is this true?

that is one of the cat convertors.

do not drill a hole, it will sound awful, like a tea kettle.

it is not clear what year truck you have.

96 with 300-6 one I had was single cat. its the old body .style newer is V6. Cat is the first one after engine.

I'd help but I'm so confused by the previous posts. The only thing that made sense to me was quicklook's response bout not drilling the cat converter. Good job quicklook! haha.
