I am impressed with por 15 products thus far. take a hammer to their stuff if you want.......I have...even added a chisel.
anyway, they make a high temp paint for headers..wondering if anyone has any experience. I'm gonna give it a go but am also wondering if i should put it on the inside as well. I have some old/new creger headers that are supposed to fit my app...I don't think they are real strong pipes so I'm not looking to use ceramic.
I have heard people that didn't have as good of results using Barbeque paint. Most places carry VHT paint, and a friend of mine used that on his headers and it flaked off immediately upon startup. I think both methods only work as good as your preperation, however. I cleaned my bare steel headers with acetone, sanded them lightly with a 200 grit sand-paper (on the outside) and then cleaned them again with acetone, then painted them with the Barbeque paint. When I started my truck, and the headers heated up, the paint "flashed." I saw a flame about the size of a lit match go up and down the tube of the headers then snuff out. However, the paint is still on there.
