Ryan, sig fixed...thanks. And, those pictures were taken before the test drive. As I look out the window now, they are already blackened on the insides.

Maevans, I have some concern of rain and snow, but don't know how big of a concern it will be yet. I'll probably let it rain in there a couple times to see how bad it is, and if need be drill a small hole at the low point in the flex pipe to let water drain out.

I'm not worried about anyone dropping anything in them. If they do, look out.....

Emipretc & Kwik, thanks guys....and it's time for you to get some stacks and have envy no more!!

Nice looking install Jeremy and good pics as usual. I'd be curious about your highway observations on the sound at speed.

I'll find out today. I'm getting ready to walk out the door and hit the highway. I've got to return a pop-up camper that I borrowed from some family. It's a 2.5 hour drive, so I'll be able to make some nice observations on noise levels both loaded (somewhat - it's just a small pop-up) and unloaded.

Erin? Well, she kept asking me when I was getting my "redneck exhaust" since I had been talking about it for a few weeks before. Let's just say she didn't necessarily like riding in the truck before, and I don't think the stacks helped.

As far as exhaust noise and drone goes....it's definately there. But, I expected that with the stacks. Funny how I took my straight pipe off and a muffler back on because of too much drone, and now I've got the stacks & drone is back. Hey, at least now I've got some good looks to go with my noise. On my trip today, pulling a small pop-up camper one way, the drone became very apparent. It's obviously worse when pulling the load, but it was still there running empty. However, it wasn't anything that the radio couldn't overpower, and I was still able to have a conversation on the phone (no lectures please about driving and talking - it was with a hands free headset).

The drone might get old on a long highway trip, but I'll live with it. I'll find out for sure when I head to Colorado this weekend. I guess if the drone is too bad, it'll make a good excuse to go get a second truck that's not as mean as this one will end up, and better suited for highway driving. Hmmmm...perhaps that dually I've always wanted...black of course.

JT, I was looking at the pics, very nice. Stacks rock don't they? But I have another question for you. After looking at the pics as closely as I can, is your front windshield tinted? I couldn't see a sun shield. If it is you are my hero. When I lived in NM I always had my front windshield tinted. But now that I live in TX they inspect the truck, so no dice now days. I miss it. People would call my truck Area 51 cuz you could see it, but never knew what was going on inside. I realize I might get some hate mail for this but I had to ask.

I know you got the stack kit off of ebay, but do you know what company it is? Here is my biggest problem that I am finding, I already have 5" on my truck and I am having trouble finding a stack kit with 5" inlet/t-pipe, I dont want to go from 5" that I have down to 4" then back to 5", I want my 5" all the way. I think I found one somewhere but it was like $700, I said no thanks to that one, I only paid like 300 bucks shipped for the complete 5" I have now. If I could find a kit a decent price I would buy them right now, but Its not turning out so easy.

RD, my windshield is not tinted...cops are tough around here & they'll pull you over if they think your front sides are too dark. What you're seeing is the sunblocker sun shades I put in the windows.

Genaral, the kit is Grand Rock kit. You might contact them to see if they can make you a y-pipe for your 5" system.

i do know Grand Rock makes an "all 5 inch" splitter pipe, because i saw on PDP's site that you can opt for that for $50 extra over the 4" inlet.

Here's a link to the Grand Rock website: http://www.grpipes.com/

It looks like they can make just about anything you want, so I'm sure that one of their dealers could get it as well.

Kris, did you say that Garrett would match the eBay price of the systems. The one he carries and the one I got (from eBay) are both Grand Rock, but mine was $395 with no shipping charges. IIRC, Garrett's is about $160 more, plus shipping?

no i did not say that, (i think?) but i did see that Garrett carried the piece that the guy above wanted. however that was $50 more than the regular splitter 4 into 5 that we both have.

i tried letting Garrett have a chance at my business. i told him that i wanted 6" now instead of 5", so he said to email him and he would get back with me on monday. (this was saturday night). so i emailed, left a number and then received no call or email since. so, last night i ordered the stacks 6x5x36" miters and then got an email that they are backordered. ship in 1-2 weeks.
