Hi, I recently changed my 4x4 locks and tested it today. The locks works good but there is some funny sound from the wheel only when engaged in 4x4.. When I took the hub off I noticed that the center shaft was loose, do not know if it is normal. It move in and out and sideways. I found that the in and out is ok, but do not know if the side play is ok.
Any suggestion? I think it could be the hub bearing, the one in the hub. Is it a hard job to take the bearing out? I see in my book they use a special tool to remove it, any one has done this before.
One more thing, I have IFS front suspension, dana 50. Do you have to unlock the shaft from the differential?
I think the cracking sound come from the swivel joint, they are hold and rusty.
