I assume you are speaking of the selector shaft seal, this is a small job to replace, you have to remove the pan, remove the valve body, remove the selector shaft, just to get to the seal. If you are not familar with removing valve body, I would look at a manuel before you try. If you decide to remove seal, be very carful when lowering the valve body, as you may have a ball or two come out, like a BB from a BB Gun, also make sure not dirt gets on the valve body, or it will cause problems later.
