It sucks

Man I have lived in Las Vegas for seven years now. I like, on an occasion to go into a bar after work and have a beer. Here in Lost Wages you cannot do that! Every darn bar has poker screens at the chair. You are supposed to buy a round of quarters (10 bucks) then you get your beer free. But I do not gamble. So I pay ten bucks for one beer. Pisses me off to no end. I am moving back to Idaho. At least there I can buy a 1.75 beer at the counter! NV sucks, with a capitol S. Plus Las Vegas is getting to be east California, and north Mexico!

Ever tried the bars in the casinos? Last I heard, the nicer places had cheap drinks and a somewhat non-gaming atmosphere in the bar/lounge areas.

I went to the Harley Davidson cafe and didn't see any of that stuff.
We really enjoyed our time there
I see you are new here.

Btw,just so you know and don't get into trouble .... FTE doesn't like people posting profanity or profanity masking.

FTE is a family site.

Maybe choose some other words

I always liked Laughlin Nevada. Bring your own quarters, play the video poker games and slots, get plowed for free, get a cheap room...

And the last time I was there - I won back the price of the room, dinner, and breakfast.

I love Laughlin as well.
We stay at either the Colorade Belle or the Ramada Express.

The Belle has the Micro-brewery in it and has areas without gaming in it.

But..... Dutch, he is just looking for a place to have a drink after work (In Las Vegas) where he isn't bombarded by gaming.

I would think the H.D. and the Hard Rock Cafe's are the place to go.

You don't have to gamble to have a beer (although it is tempting). If you do buy the beer/drink instead of getting comped for gambling it is expensive. Some casinos/bars make you play max credit and start with $10-$20 to be comped. The days of cheap/free food & boose in Las Vegas are long gone.

The best part of Las Vegas, to me anymore, is that St. George and Hurricane are only about 1 1/2 hours north.

why not just bring some of your own quarters, pop a few into a machine, then order up a beer
