Duane, The bed on my truck was rough looking and had a welded hole where a gooseneck hitch had been installed. I had a spray in liner put in it and it did wonders for the appearance. You could have a Rhino or Lines etc or do a do it yourself one and really dress it up.
I thought about that and wondered if it would work, but by the time I put the truck to work it won't have a bed on it, just a 5th wheel plate and 1/4 fenders. I think all I'll do is glass the fender back together so it will hold together and all it good
The problem is once I start hauling comercially some states consider a box or flatbed a cargo area making the truck a "straight truck" rather than a power unit. And if they consider it a straight truck i would end up bieng over length with a 53' trailer. Other than that I would definetly go with a flat bed, seems to make the truck about twice as usefull than just having a bad!
