06-07 Question

I know that between the 05 and 06 year there were a ton of changes on the motor, but i havent heard if there were any from the 06 to the 07. I want to buy a new one and i would save money going with a left-over '06 but if there were changes to the 07 then i would prefer to go with that one.

Depending on build date, there might be a difference (besides price). My understanding is the updated turbo didn't hit production til very late '05 or beginning of '06 builds (I mean date of manufacture, not model year). There may be other things I'm not aware of as well.

I ordered an '07, for what it's worth...

I tried to factory order at the end of the 06 model year ordering period, the salesman screwed up and missed the date so I had to take an 07. It came in about a month ago (truck #763 of the production run). They explained to me the only differences were price increase up 1% and tilt and cruise are not combined options for 07. From what I have seen that is entirely correct. I am very happy with my 07 and it has been getting phenominal fuel economy with only 1600km on the clock.

My dealer said there was only a $100 price bump between '06 and '07. Just read another thread here about the squeak/chirping in '06s -- sounds like yet another update (to the HPOP lines/fittings). Just another, albeit small, reason for going '07 (and one with a July or later build date at that)...
