Disc brakes
I have a 68'F250 Camper Special with daul piston power dics brakes on the front. I recently replaced the pads but it is making alot of noise. I dont know if I put enough tension on the return springs that are inbetween the pads(I only coiled them 1 turn which was enough to get the in their retaining holes). Can anyone tell me if these springs need to have more tension on them? Right now it sounds like the pads are rubbing against the rotors alittle bit. Thanks for the help.-68Camper

I'm not familiar with the older sets, but when I did the disc breaks on my car last year there was a small tube of adhesive in the box with the pads. I was told that using this helps prevent the problem you are having.-maybe the older sets are different but if you had some in there that you didn't use that could be it.

It's hard to judge what "a lot of noise" means to you? Is it a squel or a grind? Did you remove the wheels for another inspection yet? Maybe something came loose like the spring{s} or the caliper key! Also,you didn't by any chance put the inboard pad in upside down or backwards{can easily be done on most designs,and,has been done by some mechanics!}.
