I have a 1970 f100 with 302, 3 on the tree and 3:50 rearend stock short bed. Did the disc brake conversion with no problem (except stubborn king pins). The question I have is can this truck be converted to auto transmission with out to much trouble? Will drive shaft lengths change between manual and auto? A better solution would be a four speed but have not had too much luck finding an original fourspeed. Any help from someone who has done a conversion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Allen

Allen, You must have read the tech report. I'm glad to see someone report that changing the hubs is a pain in the ***. You can change the whole I-beam in less time and much less work. You can change the tranny. I would recomend that you buy the donor for the tranny, steering column, driveshaft, carb setup, nockdown linkage, I-beams and all the other things that you need. Find a truck up through a 79 with a 302 or 351 and auto tranny and harvest all the parts that you need. I have always been able to sell off parts that I didn't need to knock back my cost. Or keep looking for your four speed.
