Rail System-hole

Anyone know what the factory hole in the headliner is for???? There are wires inside with a receiver. No one at the dealership seems to know. It was assumed it was for a DVD player. However, I ordered a DVD player and the plugs do not match. HELP please.

hmmm, you would think it would be the wiring harness for the dvd player. Did you buy your truck brand new? If so, on the window sticker does it list "DVD prep package" as an option? That package includes the wiring harness so that you could easily add the player later if you want to.

I know what this is.....This is a pre-wire for a bluetooth device that mounts in on of the storage bins. It won't be out until the end of July or August. Brandmotion has this product. www.brandmotion.com it is called the blueconnect. This prewire system allows you to plug and play this device with a bluetooth phone and when you recieve a call, it auto mutes your stereo. Pretty sweet. I am thinking of getting one. I did just order the Magellan integrated navigation system from them (well on ebay) i will get it tomorrow. can't wait.

I was wondering the same thing on my truck. I guess i will be able to pickup a bluetooth device for my phone and stuff later. That would be kind of cool.

I would like to install the factoruy rail system. Is this something that can be done? My plan is to install a drop down screen and I think that it would look more factory if I had the rails.

Do you have the SCab or SCrew? The reason I ask is that I believe they only come made for those two type of body styles.

I would guess so because on my Screw it does, but what I'm not sure about is the support between the headliner and roof to support the weight of the rails and accessories mounted on the rails.

You might wanna ask the seller a question (the ebay link) and see if he knows.

It's not for a bluetooth, but it is a 12v source for adding the overhead bins that have a celphone holder, palmpilot holder or 2 snakelights for charging. It is listed as connector C9036, an auxiliary power point plug with 3 wires in it, 2 power and one ground

Of course it can be for the bluetooth, blueconnect hands free phone system. This device comes with the same power connector as the above listed items.
