Anybody know how to get a replacement B-Pillar certification sticker/label? (sometimes referred to as the "door label") I was t-boned a few months ago, which required replacing the b-pillar, and while the body shop did a good job of pulling the sticker and placing it on the new pillar, the corner is torn, and you can tell it was removed/replaced. Not a big deal, I would just like it to look 100% new (as opposed to 99.9%...)
I've emailed Ford (thanks to the "build sheet" thread), but I haven't had a reply on this issue yet. Wondering what steps anybody has gone through to successfully obtain a replacement cert. label.
Thank you for contacting the Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center regarding a replacement door label.
Unfortunately, door labels for all vehicles are generated at the assembly plant.
If you have any other inquiries or concerns, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to address them for you.
WTF??
So, I went to the local dealer, and the service manager told me that is shouldn't be a problem to replace, took the VIN and called me back a few hours later. Bad news - while the replacement cert labels are available, they are only available for 2003 and later vehicles. Once the next model year is out, the 2003 replacement labels will me longer be available.
Isn't that sticker a federal requirement, as it states max. load, etc.? I'd look into this carefully - you don't want to end up having a conference with a friendly trooper thanks to a missing sticker.
