Like I said, Never been inside a Dana 80.....glad too. 475 ft lbs will just about pull the truck off the lift. LOL

I have a buddy that works at TraTech (Detroit Locker)...He'll know what's up with a dana80.

Highmark18, Didn't mean no harm. Just thought you need to look at the pinion flange for excessive wear at the seal area. I thought the 4 months between failures is a little much. Guess I'm a little **** about getting inside of diffs. I've spent big $$ inside'em and don't want that to happen any more.

I didnt read the post enough and didnt see that you had the dana 80. I was speaking of the sterling.

None taken, just wanted to let you know what my Ford guy had told me, just in case he was wrong. I trust the guys on this site alot more than the stealership boys. Now if it leaks again, I will look at the flange. Thanks!
