[QUOTE=davdogg39]I have an 92 bronco going to try to replace myself.

Let me know how it goes for you. I'm mostly hesitating because I will have to go out and buy a lot of the tools. I'm not sure what tools my boyfriend has. In the end it might be worth it to just take it to a mechanic....

But if you get the tools for this job, then the next time you already have the tools and it will cost you a fraction of what it would to take it to a mechanic.

I found with my spindle puller that I the vibration when wacking slide hammer caused the puller to unthread a little each shot, so give it about three to four wacks then check the puller. It's worth it rather than ruining a spindle.

Follow this thread for replacing the ball joints.

The biggest problem will come with removing the spindle. I found it easier to purchase a 4WD Spindle Puller for ~ $27.00 from CarQuest (they are similar to the Lisle #22200). Then go to your favorite auto parts house (AutoZone, O'Reilly, etc) and rent a slide hammer - rental is 100% refundable on return. Anyways, my '85 Bronco never had the spindle removed previously, and only required 4 'pulls' on the slide hammer before the spindle came free.
