86 f250 bed weight

I am considering removing the bed from my truck in hopes of dropping weight for better gas milage. It is an 8 footer. anyone know how much weight I would be losing?

Around 250-300 lbs max as I can lift one with someone else helping and I got a pretty tore up back,won't save you much in gas but your ride will suffer.

in what way will ride suffer?

no weight over the rear wheels which will cause the rear to bounce around=less traction

Not to mention traction troubles... I had the box off a 1 ton, temporary thing, and had a hitche set up so we could run the truck and trailer until we got the flatbed put on. I went to back under the trailer when it was a bit muddy, and it was about helpless. Not to mention the legal troubles if you don't put something over the tires so it won't toss rocks and such.
