Recommended Order of Steps for 87' Bronco II Overhaul/Rebuild
Hello all, new to the forums and thanks for reading this post any help is appreciated.
I have 1987 Ford Bronco II specs:
2.9LV6 EFI 177CI
5sp manual tranny
4wd
aprox 150k miles
I'm beginning a project to completely rebuild and transform it to an off road rig. My intentions are to:
1) install body & suspension lift(shocks, springs, ect)
2) swap axles from early explorer(dana 35s for the 28s)
3) swap rebuilt engine and tranny (302 V8 and tranny from mustang)
4) add custom roll cage
hearing from others who have completed similar projects completing these in a certain order can have its advantages(body lift before engine swap minimizes amount of firewall that needs to be cut, ect..)
what would anybody recommend for the best order to complete these steps??

I would do it in the order of 2 first no matter that way its out of the way so you don't have to think about it when it comes time for the kit. The next thing I would do is the lift kit for the reason you stated above the motor swap is easier when the truck is lifted. Next would be the motor swap then the roll cage.
