I know how to wire it up so that you can manually control the 3-4 shift when the selector is in O.D. I don't know that it's possible to eliminate one of those positions (you'd actually be eliminating the D position) on the selector.
The 3-4 shift solenoid circuit (and the TCC solenoid, for that matter) is a pretty simple DC circuit where the computer acts as a ground side switch. If you will allow yourself to keep both OD and D positions on the selector, it would be pretty easy to wire in a manual switch in place of the computer in the circuit.
How much detail do you need? You're basically replacing the computer (in this one circuit) with a switch of your own choosing. Get a wiring diagram to properly identify the 3-4 shift circuit/pin at the computer, cut the wire, and put your switch in (one lead to the solenoid, one lead to ground.
oo yeah ha ha i got up a count yesterday on the drive side under the carpet there is about 30 and the passenger side under the carpet there is 10. But atleast mine is done right with sta-cons and wire nuts unlike you with your paper clips duct tape and stuff switched on the ground side LOL!!!!
