Oil Analysis / bypass ?
When I install the bypass I'm assuming you install right after an oil change, so you start off with clean oil?
Also at what milage do you start sending in samples, and how often after that. I have about 2000 miles on my current oil now, and was thinking about starting a sample just to see what goiong on inside the motor, and then installing the bypass once I figure out which one I want.
Thanks
Rich
After the bypass installation, there will still be wear metals, just a lot fewer of them.
Anyway, you are looking for trends when using a lab, not absolute numbers.
Your initial sample could be sent at 3,000 miles, and they will tell you how it looks, and what to do.
I am pushing up to around 9,000 on the current Delo, but will be changing it at no more than around 12,000, no matter what.
Of course, right now I have an oil leak that needs fixing and I'm just adding "make-up" oil, so my next sample should be fabulous! ;-)))
