I think I've made my mind up, I'm gonna put the 302 in the F250,mainly because it has more to offer. I've been reading on here for days now and have really learned alot. I know some would say not to do this and others would say go ahead. One major question I need answered is about the wiring. Do I just need the motor harness along with the ecu box or do I need more? If anyone could help me out with this I sure would appreciate it. Thanks
you will need the entire 302 harness, ecu, motor mounts, flexplate etc..
but honestly you are putting a hi rpm motor in a heavy truck. you will loss both in towing and mpg with this setup. the 302 was not a very common option in an f250 for this very reason. the 300-6 is a torque motor and will out live all of the v8's offered. a 5.8 will have all the torque and hp needed to move the motor and would require all the same time/effort as swapping in the 302. plus the mpg would be better then what the 302 can provide.
