I think the "super cooling option" is just a bigger radiator (two row vs. one row). With that large of an engine, I think it already has the largest radiator Ford put in the F-series trucks.

Didn't Ford put some external tranny coolers on this option? See if there's another cooler that looks just like the condensor coil for the A/C (only much smaller) in front of the A/C Condensor.

Super engine cooling included a bigger radiator and possibly a different fan.

A hitch wasn't part of the towing package. If you have the factory 7 pin trailer connector and brake controller connector under the dash, you have the trailer towing package. If you have the towing package, you have super engine cooling. This is staight out of the brochure (there's always someone arguing when I post things out of my Ford literature) for an F-150 in 1996. I'm sure the F-350 is similar.

As far as the extra tranny cooler, my 95 F-150 with a 4R70W has one, and it doesn't have super cooling. I do know it's factory too.

The Super Cooling option was a radiator that had a core that was over 2 inches thick. 2 and one quarter if I remember correctly.

All gas v-8s use the same radiator less than 2 inches thick core--standard cooling and the same 2 1/4 inch thick core with the Super Cooling option.

Ok so i looked and i do have the factory 7 pin connector but the brake controller is a aftermarket controller [tekoncha]spelling?? My radiator is 2 1/4 i also have the little cooler in front of the a/c condenser, And stabilizer bars front and rear. The reason why im asking is cause my truck will get hot like to the L when im towing up a steep grade [Grape Vine in CA] @ 65mph and high RPM'S but if i slow down it starts to cool off like in the middle of the gauge. Also when im off roading it will also get hot ONLY if im reving it high like in the mud or sand and not cool down unless i start moving even if i just move slow like 5mph could it be my fan clutch ? how would i test it? I know its a long post sorry.

The super cooling option also adds an oil cooler. There is an additional cooling line that runs to just above the oil filter, thus needing a shorter filter. So an easy way to tell if you have the option is what oil filter you use.

It does? I'm the orig owner on a 95 w/5 speed and super cooling, always used the PH8a oil filter. They didn't sell a "Trailer Package" with the light duty 5 speed, although I have the big springs and super cooling.

I know the entire grill area is radiator ;-) and the tailgate has a wear mark where I pat her as I go by.
